I guess my wife thought we needed a shop vacuum even though we have no shop.
The pieces were lying in the living room floor, I guess she opened it up and found out
it was pieces of a shop vac instead of one ready to use. I don't know where the box
is, sometimes they have a picture that's more helpful than any enclosed directions.
Put what I went through on a web page.

Update:

There was a large round piece of gray paper on the round coffee table, looked like
it had writing on it, maybe more directions, I ignored it.

Helen came home and picked it up and said you didn't put this on it. The round
piece of paper was larger than the circumferance of the bucket. I looked at it
a minute, thought about putting it on before I sat the top on for a seal, saw that
wouldn't work because of the foam filter sticking down in the middle (held on by
the large plastic ring). I finally told her I had no idea where to put the paper.

Curly came over and we were out on the back porch and Helen brougnt out
the paper and asked Curly to put it on the vac. He said "Sure, bring me the top
out here" and she did. He said "This has to come off" and started with the foam
filter. I said Curly, there's a plastic ring up there (pointed) holding it on.
He said "Yeah yeah yeah" and pulled the ring down and off and then pulled off the
foam and told her "You don't want this, this has to come off to put the paper on".
Handed it to her and folded the paper up around where the foam had been.
Said "This is just for vacuuming, the foam thing is for wet vac".

She took the foam somewhere, still had one part not on it but seemed happy with it
now. He aked her if she had any parts with it and told her to bring the vac out
there, said he'd put those on there. I told him there wasn't any place on the bucket
to attach them, he said "There must be, all 0f them have a place for the attachments".

Found out the pieces were three straignt extensions and stuck those together and
put the thing like a floor attachment and stuck it in the inlet hole, maybe, we'll
see if it's ever plugged up and turned on.
