I posted the following on the young people forum just to make sure but I'm pretty sure it's
screwed up.

"She fired it up last night and it wasn't working right. I expect it's shot so she looked
for the receipt but hasn't found it yet but was billed on her credit card on May 25 so if
she can only take it back to Best Buy for 30 days it's passed. I don't know their
policy though.

When you type the number keys it types in:
123456789/-= Shift key down it types !@#$%^ and the rest of the row does nothing.

top row of letters:
qwerty456* shift key down it types QWERTY*{}|

That's not some screwed up setting is it? I think not, I think it's screwed.

Kevin said make sure the num lock is off. Didn't show a response and didn't fix.

Asus eeePC warranty page:
http://support.asus.com/repair/repair.aspx?no=506&SLanguage=en-us

Warranty cover:

1. part(s) and labor service with free with one way shipping back to sender.

2. sender pay one way freight to ASUS USA facility.

3. all warranty is valid within US and Canada (regional warranty only)

4. battery and accessories only warranty for six months.

Where to repair?
Normally, the standard procedure is to contact your Reseller (place of purchase) for repair/exchange. However, if your reseller is no longer in business or unavailable, please contact your nearest ASUS office directly. You may also write to us. We will arrange technical support personnel to solve your case.

Technical Support Team
You may write to us in Technical Inquiries for product compatibility or technical related issues.

Kevin sent me to the onscreen keyboard and the num lock on it was on.
I turned it off and everything's fine now. Yay! Very Happy

I'll see what they say or suggest.

As I was reading about your woes, I thought it may have been your number lock on!

Downloaded Firefox 3.5 tonight..We'll see how it goes..Seems a little faster.

It should be fine if you haven't had one before. Kevin said it wiped out his stored passwords
but was able to import them from a backup copy. He mentioned a few improved things and
services and really liked it overall. I think I'll wait a little while before I get it but I will
get it.
