PostSubject: About my Clock   Sat Apr 24, 2010 8:52 pm

I meant to tell Rock about it when he was down here and pointed at it
as I went by going somewhere else and said there was the clock Mom
sent down but didn't remember to tell the story when I came back
through.

On my birthday I opened it up and later that evening I found and put in
the proper battery. The hands started moving click click click one
minute at a time. I had it up in my hands and could have accidently
pushed something I guess. It kept going until it got to a few minutes
past three. It was a few minutes past 6. After it stopped I just let it
alone for a while and later picked it up and pushed the e (for EST) button,
and waited for the sattelite to go over. It didn't change, did the same
a couple more different times before I went to bed. Nothing.

About noon the next day I was passing through and just stopped and
picked it up and pushed the e button again and it click click click a
while again and set itself the the correct time.

I thought a different time I did tell Rock if he wanted to know the correct
time to go look at it. I think I thanked you Mom but Thanks or thanks again.

No you never mentioned the clock, although I inquired a time or two. Glad to know it works. That is the way it does when the satalite (sp) isn't close , it turns every so often to preset nos. til eventually the satalite gets close enough to set it. When the time changes to daylite savings, the hand will move one hour, in the fall it will go around 11 times; allways clockwise of course.
I hope you enjoy it, and you are welcome.

I don't know if I ever mentioned this either, computers don't set themselves that
way, you have to set them yourself. The time and date are saved on you
computer by a little CMOS battery even when the power is off. It's about the
size of a quarter except about three times as thick. Last time I looked, I don't
think they've changed it.

Buddy told me a few years ago that his old computer was off 5 minutes and had
been since he had it. I showed him how to set it.

Not sure the directions you gave Buddy but I've found the easiest way to change the time on your computer is to just double click the the displayed time at the bottom right of your monitor and change it there thru the windows pop-up.

That's right. Or right click it and choose Adjust date/time either one.
